After a successful second TRNSYS EXPERIENCE seminar in Kaiserslautern (February 2016), the Université de Liège in partnership with the Universities of Greater-Region, Luxembourg, Lorraine & Kaiserslautern, as well as the consultancy company ICSEED, is pleased to announce the 3rd TRNSYS EXPERIENCE Seminar next 2nd & 3rd March 2017 in Arlon (Belgium).

This seminar is an opportunity to join Research, Engineering & Consultancy. Presentations will introduce research projects and real cases promoting dynamic thermal/energy simulation as a powerful and meaningful tool for energy & buildings, for design & auditing. In the context of growing BIM, as well as requirements for energy efficiency, thermal dynamic simulation takes a more and more significant place within the overview of energy & buildings. 

Consequently, real cases and results will be presented considering the following main topics:  

  • Passive & Nearly-Zero Energy Building: Energy and Comfort
  • TRNSYS and Energy Audit
  • Renewable energy sources integration in buildings
  • TRNSYS connection to other softwares
  • Optimisation of energy use in buildings

This seminar will be held in English so as to promote international exchanges around TRNSYS experiences.

About the venue

Arlon city | Arlon campus environnement

Arlon city

Capital of the province of Luxembourg, the city of Arlon is a central place around three countries borders: Germany, France and Luxembourg. Meeting point between Latin and Germanic cultures, Arlon is probably the oldest city in Belgium.

The remains of the ancient Roman city illustrate the flourishing history of Arlon. Many sculptures and scenes on monuments confirm the wide period of opulence of the city.

Arlon campus environnement

The event will be located at the Environmental Sciences and Management Department of the University of Liège based in Arlon. Since 1971, the Arlon campus is entirely committed to the teaching and the research in environmental subjects. It is today resolutely involved in the implementation of sustainable development.

The department offers internationally renowned multidisciplinary postgraduate courses, including Master’s Degrees in Environmental Science and Management, as well as Advanced Master’s Degrees. This educational offer attracts each year around 150 students from all around the world.

The campus is completely integrated within green surroundings, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
